Draping and 
deconstructed 

Deconstruction suggests unexpected outcomes on a new design with the use of pre-existing garments. 

 

Exploring endless possibilities by juxtaposing various garments on the mannequin. 

 

Draping act as an essential skill that a designer should have. It helps to visualize and create form and silhouette in a physical form.

The top is being contructed by two blazers. The shoulder padding are being utilized to create shapes and form on different parts of the body. The idea of repeatition could be identify on the multiplication of the sleeves.

The drape is a combination of two shirts and a blazer. The two shirts could be seen in two different colors, the sleeve is joined with the button placket from two different shirt. The blazer attached on the back created a hunchback form with the help of shoulder padding.

The skirt is bring constructed with a bomber jacket on the front and a blazer on the back. The quilting on the bomber helps to create a stiff form by folding and attaching at different points. The blazer on the back also created interesting shapes with the help of shoulder padding. The sleeve of the blazer is tucked in for a cleaner look.

The top is a combination of a blazer jacket and a dress. The dress is being flipped inside out to expose the allowance of the princess seam line. The bottom of the dress is pleated on the side seam to shorten the length and create a cowl-like effect. The blazer jacket is attached to the back of the dress to create a cape-like look. The shoulder pads create a form at the back of the garment.

The dress is created with garments that are seen daily in life. It consisted of three shirts, a blazer, a dress, and jeans. Details such as shirt collar, button placket, and jeans pocket, are juxtaposed to create familiarity with the unfamiliar form of dress. 

The is a draping that is extracted from a collage which includes in the project -  'The Aftermath of War'. The goal is to create a drape that is as similar to the collage. Translating the details of collage into the drape by manipulating the fabric with fashion details. It is formed with a base dress and layers sandwiched or layered on it.
